**Warning: This article contains spoilers from* Stranger Things *season 5, episode 4, "Sorcerer."****

As it turns out, *Stranger Things* fans weren’t the only ones who were floored by that reveal at the end of Volume 1.

On Thursday, Netflix released a video of the moment that Noah Schnapp’s costars learned that his character Will Byers has his own set of superpowers while at a table read for season 5.

The clip shows co-creator Matt Duffer reading out the end of the fourth episode “Sorcerer,” in which Will channels his own powers to stop a collection of demogorgons from killing his friends.

“In the MAC-Z, the Demo’s arms suddenly freeze in place as it is held back by an invisible force,” Duffer says. “A stunned Mike opens his eyes as the Demo writhes, muscles straining, trying to break free, we push past the creature to reveal Will.”

Gaten Matarazzo is the first to react to the reveal, looking down at his script in shock and putting a hand on top of his head. He casts a surprise look at Schnapp just as Natalia Dyer's eyebrows raise and Charlie Heaton’s head pops up from his script with a slight smile.

“He’s now on his feet with his hands held out in the direction of the Demogorgon. His eyes are solid white. He’s doing this,” Duffer continues as the camera cuts over to show Millie Bobby Brown’s mouth dropping open in surprise. “As a wide-eyed Mike and Joyce take this in, down in the tunnels, the Demo lunges at Lucas, but Will calmly holds out his other hand and this Demo is frozen in place, too.”

Schnapp can be seen smiling in his seat as Duffer continues to read the script.

“Back in the MAC-Z, Will, two hands out now, now slightly lowers his head and Robin, on the field, watches in awe as she sees her Demo become frozen too,” Duffer says, as Joe Keery shakes his head with a smile and Brown holds onto Schnapp’s hand. “Mike, Lucas, and Robin watch, transfixed, as the monsters levitate ten feet in the air.”

As Duffer reveals that Will goes onto violently kill the three Demogorgons, the camera cuts to a brief moment with Schnapp appearing to make a face at Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays series villain Vecna. The latter begins laughing in response.

“Will drops to his knees in the middle of the burning battlefield. Mike and Joyce look on, speechless. Will slowly unclenches his fist and peels open his eyes,” Duffer says, as Brown and Schnapp begin to dance in their seats. “His eyes are back to normal, only they now reveal a new sense of calm and strength. He is now in control. He is a sorcerer.”

Duffer concludes, “As a trail of blood slips from his nose, we end Volume 1.”

The cast bursts into applause afterward. “You’re one of me!” Brown cheers, reaching for Schnapp’s arm. She teasingly adds,“Now you get to deal with that bloody nose.”

Schnapp previously told ** that he first learned of Will’s powers while reading the fourth episode’s script ahead of the table read. "It was a whiplash of a reveal for me," he said.

The 21-year-old actor noted that he "channeled a 6,000-pound silverback gorilla” in order to bring the ferocity the scene needed. “I would watch videos of how they walk and how they move and breathe, and just grunt and imagine it as I'm getting into that to show that's not Baby Will in there," he added.

In the end, all it took was a single take. “I ran to the tent, we watched it. I looked at Ross [Duffer] and we just started laughing," he recalled. "We were like, 'Don't touch it! That's it. We're done.’”

*Stranger Things *fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see how Will’s new powers affect the series. Volume 2 is set to drop on Netflix on Christmas Day, with the series finale set to hit theaters and the streaming platform on New Year’s Eve.
