Warning: This article contains spoilers for the Stranger Things series finale, "The Rightside Up."
While the 18-month flash-forward at the end of the Stranger Things series finale may have provided updates on most of the Hawkins crew, there was one character who was noticeably absent from all the festivities.
Vickie (Amybeth McNulty) was not featured or directly mentioned in the epilogue, prompting many viewers to wonder about the character's whereabouts and the status of her relationship with Robin (Maya Hawke).
Show creators Matt and Ross Duffer tell Entertainment Weekly that they "did talk" about where Vickie ended up, but it's ultimately up to the audience to decide whether she and Robin are still together.

"We do that flash-forward in Mike's story and we bring them up to a certain point, and then we want to leave it a little bit up to fans in terms of where these characters end up ultimately," Ross says. "Do Robin and Vickie stay together? Maybe, maybe not."
His brother Matt notes, however, that it's not likely the couple's high school romance survived beyond Hawkins.
"From my point of view and from everyone I knew in high school, what percentage of couples remain together after they leave for college? Extremely low," he says. "Max and Lucas survive because their love is that deep, but very few others do."

Robin harbored a huge crush on Vickie, a fellow member of the Hawkins High School band, throughout season 4 of Stranger Things. It was revealed that the pair had officially gotten together at the beginning of the fifth and final season, with Vickie coming to learn all about the Upside Down and even helping to protect Max (Sadie Sink) during the final fight against Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and the Mind Flayer.
However, fans began to suspect that she and Robin might have gone their separate ways when they didn't attend the class of '89 graduation ceremony together at the end of the episode. That theory appears to be reinforced by a comment Robin made about "overbearing significant others" while hanging out with Steve (Joe Keery), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) ā although the comment could've very well been a nod to Steve's chaotic dating life too.

While fans may not have gotten a concrete answer on where Robin and Vickie stand, the finale did confirm that Max and Lucas are still together and that Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour) are engaged. So maybe love is still alive in Hawkins?
All five seasons of Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix.
